Fluconazole targets the fungi that causes thrush (candida) to stop it producing ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Disrupting ergosterol production breaks down the fungal cell membrane, preventing candida from spreading. Each capsule contains 150mg of fluconazole, which is enough to clear a thrush infection.
Fluconazole usually relieves symptoms of thrush within two days. Speak to your GP if you still have symptoms after a week.
